Winners Announced in Door County Hospitality Worker Thank You Campaign
Two Door County hospitality workers were recently selected as winners in a hospitality industry thank you campaign conducted late last year to show appreciation for a job well done in what was a very busy 2021 tourism season.
David Sawyer of the Churchill Inn won a $250 Frontier Airlines travel voucher and Diane Lopez of the Peninsula Pub won a $250 Visa gift card. They were selected randomly among all nominees.
The first ever thank you campaign was put together by Destination Door County (DDC) and local community business associations to show gratitude towards area hospitality workers for a tremendous 2021 season. The community was asked to submit nominations of well deserving individuals in the hospitality industry, and 67 nominations were submitted by residents, guests, visitors, business owners and co-workers.
During the nomination period a generous donor, Abby Cucci-Probst, appreciated the thank you campaign effort and graciously gave $250, which allowed a second prize (Visa gift card) to be awarded as part of the campaign.
"We appreciate all of our hospitality workers and wish each nominee could have won," said Jon Jarosh, Director of Communications & PR at DDC. "But we're delighted to honor our two winners, on behalf of the entire industry, for the hard work they do and for making our visitors feel welcome in Door County."
In addition to all hospitality workers, DDC would like to thank Frontier Airlines and Austin Straubel International Airport for partnering on this campaign to provide an airline voucher for a well deserved getaway.
Jarosh said DDC and the eleven community business association partners are planning to conduct another hospitality worker thank you campaign at the end of the 2022 season.
