More Information
The Scofield house is a beautifully restored Queen Anne mansion, built in 1902. The house boasts a five-color paint job, authentic to the period. The interior combines Victorian furnishings with floral fabrics and wallcoverings, and white lace. Especially fine is the original oak paneling with raised designs of bows, ribbons and swags. The inlaid oak floors feature intricate borders patterned in cherry, walnut, birch, and maple.
Luxury abounds in the six guest rooms decorated lavishly with romantic antique beds complemented with fluffy flowered comforters and cabbage rose wallpaper. Modern amenities include many rooms with fireplaces and double-whirlpools. "Room-at-the Top" is a sky-lit 900 square foot suite occupying the whole third floor and decorated with Victorian antiques.
A stay at The Scofield House is complemented by a gourmet breakfast, which includes a choice of juices, home-baked pastry, a choice of at least two entrees, and a fruit dessert. Afternoon "sweet treats" and beverages greet guests after a full day enjoying the pleasures of the Door County peninsula.
