Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics

Our partnership with Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics began in 2019 and helps to ensure a sustainable future for Door County's outdoor spaces. Initiatives include creation and promotion of Door County 7 LNT principles, access to research, training programs, and educational programs as well as working with land managers to become Gold Standard Sites.

Green Destination Certification

This year, we began the 3-year certification process to audit and make improvements to the County's sustainability performance efforts to become Green Destination certified. Once the certification is complete, we will join roughly 200 destinations throughout the world that have committed to sustainability.
